From "The Clock that Went Backwards Again" (here) this historical bootleg photographs a moment that is an anedocte in whole Heep history.
As Mr. LiborioFriki (Thank you very much for this document) says in his Blog:
"A truly legendary concert with Marc Bolan being booed off stage like no tomorrow with calls and shouts for Uriah Heep (who had opened the show) drowning him out. Marc Bolan getting totally mad and using some "bad" (to put it milddly) language".
If i'm not in error (remember: i'm Italian), at the beginning of song 2, when people said "Uriah Heep" for another time, you can hear Bolan that rename our band Uriah Shit... People, also about this your comments are wellcome....
Covers by Rockitaly (here). Thanks a lot

I THINK THIS MAN CAN NOT WANT TO DESERVE SPACE IN THIS BLOG, EXCUSES BUT... They WERE AZARADIS, The HEEP DOES not DESERVE THIS TYPE OF CITACION, CONSIDER A CRITIC CONSTRUCTIV. EMBRACES. EDUARDO.
ReplyDeleteI post this bootleg only for historical importance, because this concert shows an episode of what i know only from the collage of articles in the folder of vinyl version of Uriah Heep Live 1973 (do you remember? - See first image of my post)
ReplyDeleteI think that at times, beginning of 1972, when UH were only at their 4th album and T Rex at their highlights, see the people who likes so much UH is a very strange thing...
THANKS ROB!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTry actually listening to this. Don't sound like Bolan being booed off to me, Can't hear Urah Shit. However Heep were a dull band sadly they are back together. OAP rock
ReplyDeleteI was at that concert, and T-Rex was not booed off the stage. Initially I was impressed by Uriah Heep's act, but I (and everybody else) was really turned off by what happened next. Uriah Heep unplugged Marc Bolan's amp and mike during one of his songs, and then a few guys in the audience loudly booed T Rex. Those guys were obvious plants and everybody knew it! They stood out like narcs...older guys with short hair--a definite red flag in 1972. And they all met up in the foyer after the show! Most people in the audience were royally pissed off at Uriah Heep. The guys from Uriah Heep acted like a bunch of jealous teenagers in 1972 and they're still doing it now. Uriah Heep my have been better musicians than T Rex, and they weren't some sugary teenybopper pablum like T Rex, but this is bullshit.
