The show was apparently recorded at The Greyhound in Croydon on 21st of November 1971During the Look At Yourself tour (which subsequently turned into a punk club and now no longer exists) . At just over 30 minutes long, it includes only two songs but these are among the longest in Heeps back catalogue namely :- Salisbury and July Morning.
The Greyhound(Renamed the Blue Orchid) as it looks now
I believe this is the earliest known recording of July Morning and conversly this tour must have been the last time Salisbury was played
Not a bad quality recording for it's time
On a personal note I absolutley love hearing Salisbury live (as this was the Song that got me into Heep in the first place) and its great to note that it does not lose any of it's energy without the orchestra
Tracks
01 Salisbury - 17:31
02 July Morning - 11:29
Enjoy
This looks ver nice indeed, but unfortunately track two won't extract, CRC error! Would be great if you could reupload!

ReplyDeleteNew link provided Try that
ReplyDeleteI did, thanks for your efforts! This is really great and the sound quality is really good too! Yeah, Salisbury, great track and album, so much, much better than the Deep Purple thingy with the orchestra, to which it is so often (unfairly) compared. That it also works without the orchestra shows just how strong a track it is.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this bootleg! The sound isn't bad at all, considering the poor sound quality of the old Uriah Heep boots you can find on the net. Short but important because of the presence of Salisbury !
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for this boot, Colin.
ReplyDeleteI listen to it only today and i like very much, especially Salisbury, that i have in the "Basel volkhaus" bootleg, but there is in bad quality and sliced for the tape reverse.
I like Uriah bootlegs and i will post some.
PS: Colin, i remember in the "UH live archive" one bootleg, quality good, registered in italy with John Sloman... Because my cds of "UH Live Archives are all crack, if you have, please, can you post it? Unfortunely i have post the cover too, so i don't remember title and year (very probably 1980) of this bootleg.
Thank you in advance.
Roby
Thanx again for this further Heep treasure! May Sandro Falcone keep on touring with his SWEET LORRAINE tribute to UH. Cheers...
